The Compulsory Registration Scheme (CRS) was introduced by the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology and is operated by BIS for specific electronic and IT products to ensure safety and quality before being sold in India.

- Factory License Copy
- Brand Authorization Letter (if brand owner ≠ manufacturer)
- ISO 9001 Certificate of manufacturer
- Authorization of Indian Representative (for foreign manufacturers)
- Product labels, artwork, user manual, and technical drawings
| Test Name | Purpose / Description |

| High Voltage Test (Dielectric Strength Test) | Ensures the insulation of the product can withstand high voltage without breaking down. |
| Earth Continuity Test | Checks if all exposed metal parts are properly earthed to avoid electric shock. |
| Insulation Resistance Test | Measures resistance between live and non-live parts to confirm proper insulation. |
| Leakage Current Test | Verifies that the current leaking to the ground or exposed parts is within safe limits. |
| Temperature Rise Test | Ensures components don’t overheat during normal operation. |
| Mechanical Strength Test | Checks physical durability of enclosures, plugs, and connectors. |
| Abnormal Operation Test | Evaluates product safety under fault or misuse conditions. |
| Stability and Mechanical Hazards Test | Confirms that the equipment is stable and doesn’t pose a tipping hazard. |
| Resistance to Heat and Fire (Glow Wire Test) | Ensures materials used can resist ignition and fire spread. |
| Marking & Labeling Verification | Checks that labeling (ISI mark, voltage, manufacturer name, etc.) complies with BIS requirements. |
| EMI/EMC Test | Ensures product doesn’t emit or get affected by electromagnetic interference. |
| Input Power & Current Measurement | Confirms rated input values are correct and safe. |
| Performance Test / Functional Test | Verifies product works as per its intended function. |
| Surge / Transient Protection Test | Ensures safety against sudden voltage spikes. |
| Creepage and Clearance Test | Measures distance between conductive parts to prevent short circuits. |
| Drop / Impact Test | Tests the product’s durability under accidental drops. |
| Moisture Resistance / Humidity Test | Checks insulation and performance in humid conditions. |
