Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) regulates the quality, safety, and reliability of solar products in India under two certification schemes — ISI Marking Scheme (for Indian Standards–based testing) and Compulsory Registration Scheme (CRS) (for electronic products).
BIS ISI Marking Scheme (Mandatory Certification)
Under the ISI Marking Scheme, manufacturers must obtain a BIS Licence to use the Standard Mark (ISI Mark) on their products. This scheme ensures the product conforms to the Indian Standard (IS).
